HPNLU hosts cyber safety, telecom awareness drive
Students of Himachal Pradesh National Law University (HPNLU) gained valuable insights into the legal and technical dimensions of digital safety and telecom consumer rights during a Cyber Safety and Telecom Consumer Outreach Programme. The event was organised by the university’s Legal Aid Clinic in collaboration with the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI), with the objective of promoting legal awareness and empowering consumers in the digital age.
The programme opened with a warm welcome from the Vice-Chancellor of HPNLU, setting a thoughtful and engaging tone for the day. The event was graced by several esteemed dignitaries, including Vivek Khare, Adviser, TRAI; Ranjit Singh Dhiman, Vice-Chairman, Himachal Upbhokta Sanrakshan Parishad; and Sushil Kumar Bansal, Senior Research Officer, TRAI. Officials from the Himachal Pradesh Cyber Crime Cell and representatives from leading Telecom Service Providers (TSPs) were also in attendance.
The event provided a vital platform for dialogue on pressing issues such as cybercrime, data privacy and Unsolicited Commercial Communication (UCC). Subject matter experts shared deep insights into the evolving threats in cyberspace and the regulatory measures in place to counter them.
