HPU students, staff to get discounts at HPTDC hotels

The Himachal Pradesh University (HPU) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Himachal Pradesh Tourism Development Corporation (HPTDC) under which students as well as employees of Himachal Pradesh University will now get a discount of 15 per cent on food and 20 per cent accommodation on hotels. The discount will be provided after university students as well as employees will provide an I-Card or authorisation letter of the university at billing counters.

The ceremony was chaired by Prof Mahavir Singh, Vice-Chancellor, HPU, who said that this MoU will be very beneficial for all university students and employees.

As per the MoU, HPTDC will provide its facilities and services to the students, employees, officers, parents of the students and guests of the university on specific request from the university authorities issued through email or any other media to the concerned complex incharge on production of valid I-card by the beneficiary at any hotel.

HPTDC will also allow special process, discounts to students, employees, officers, parents of the students and guests of the second party as per the existing rates of accommodation on HPTDC online portal i.e. www.hptdc.in & F&B menu rates of units concerned.

Also, HPTDC will provide the training and internship for the students of Vocational Studies of HPU. Both the university and HPTDC will allow display of its banners/ standees and other publicity material at mutually agreed prominent places of their premises. Both the parties will also allow each to use their name and logo in their letter heads, office sign boards, other publicity/advertising and display materials.

HPTDC, on request and mutually convenient schedule, will organise Himachal Food/Music Fest on the university premises for the promotion of tourism.

The event was graced by the presence of Prof Mamta Mokta, Dean Students’ Welfare; Prof Hari Mohan, Dean College Development Council; Prof Ramesh Thakur, Director IQAC, Deputy General Manager, HPTDC Sh. Ravinder Kumar Sandhu and Manager, HPTDC, Sita Ram.
