HPU students visit IGMC

MSc Forensic Science students from Himachal Pradesh University (HPU) recently visited Indira Gandhi Medical College (IGMC), Shimla, to gain practical insights and hands-on experience in the field of forensic medicine, an essential component of their curriculum.

The visit enhanced their understanding of forensic applications.

According to a university spokesperson, the students were introduced to a range of departments and critical facets of forensic-related practices at the IGMC, including post-mortem procedures, toxicological analysis and medico-legal evaluations. This collaboration between HP University and IGMC offered students a unique opportunity to witness forensic science’s application in real-world medical settings, bridging the gap between their theoretical knowledge and practical exposure.

Throughout the visit, students engaged in discussions and explored complex case studies that highlighted the challenges and intricacies faced by the professionals.

Faculty members from HPU and IGMC emphasized the importance of interdisciplinary approaches in forensic science, underscoring the value of such visits in contributing to the academic and professional growth of the students.
