The team comprised Ayushi (captain), Ambika, Hemlata, Kamlesh, Talvi, Kritika, Manisha, Ishu, Pragya, Ravina, all from SAI, Dharamsala, Dimple from RKMV, Shimla, and Shivani from GDC, Seema. Pritam Singh Chauhan was the head coach of the team while Bhupinder Singh Thakur was the manager-cum-assistant coach. The university authorities congratulated the team.
IGNOU extends admission date
The IGNOU has extended the last date for online admission in its Master’s, Bachelor’s degree programmes and diploma and certificate programmes up to February 28. The IGNOU has provided the facility of fee exemption in different Bachelor’s degree programmes, diploma and certificate programmes for the candidates belonging to the SC/ST category for the 2020 session. Fake degree scam: NSUI protests
The NSUI on Tuesday lodged its protest against fake degrees given by two private universities. The NSUI activists held a demonstration in colleges across the state and submitted a memorandum to the Governor through principals of colleges, demanding strict action against the management of the erring universities. NSUI district president Yogesh Thakur said the NSUI had been raising its voice against privatisation and commercialisation of education.
Training for teachers
As part of the National Initiative for School Heads and Teachers Holistic Advancement (NISHTHA) under the Samaghra Shiksha Abhiyan (SSA), the first phase of training for teachers to boost learning outcome commenced in Bharmour. During the training, teachers were acquainted with innovative techniques of teaching to improve learning outcomes at the elementary level. The training aims at increasing awareness among teachers and helping them in developing skills on various aspects related to inclusive education, competency-based learning with learning outcomes and information and communications technology (ICT) in teaching. The highlights of the programme are activity-based modules, including educational games, quiz and social-emotional learning, motivational interactions, team-building, preparation for school-based assessment and in-built continuous feedback mechanism.
