Human-computer interaction event ends on high note at Solan university
The International Conference on Human-Computer Interaction and Cognitive Computing (HCICC-2025), co-organised by Shoolini University and the National Institute of Technology (NIT) Hamirpur, concluded on a high note, bringing together leading experts from academia and industry.
The conference featured insightful sessions on cutting-edge advancements in Human-Computer Interaction (HCI) and Cognitive Computing. Notable speakers included Dr Sandeep Kaur Kuttal from North Carolina State University, US, and Dr Sanaa Kaddoura from Zayed University, UAE, who emphasised human-centric approaches in software engineering and large language models.
A highlight was a keynote by Mr PK Gupta, Global CTO at Dell Technologies, US, titled “Emerging Technologies and Opportunities for 2025 and Beyond.” He discussed research gaps in healthcare, agriculture, defence, and manufacturing, advocating stronger collaboration between IT and other sectors to develop impactful solutions.
Prof Tapan Gandhi from IIT Delhi and Prof. Varun Dutt from IIT Mandi shed light on the role of HCI in advancing Cognitive Science. Prof. Gandhi showcased his research on Brain-Computer Interfaces, while Prof Dutt highlighted behavioural cybersecurity innovations grounded in HCI principles.
Prof Mohinder Singh Thakur, Chair of the organising committee, expressed gratitude to Shoolini University, NIT Hamirpur, and key partners like NIELIT Shimla, iCreate Gujarat, ANRF, and SERB. He acknowledged the contributions of speakers, session chairs, and participants in making the conference a success.
Special recognition was given to Dr Arvind Sharma, Convenor of HCICC-2025, and the organising team for their exceptional efforts in hosting the event seamlessly. The conference underscored the significance of HCI research in shaping human-centric solutions across diverse sectors.
