Human skeleton found in Todapur forest, police seek public help for identification

Mystery surrounds the recovery of a human skeleton in the Todapur forest beat area under the jurisdiction of Kala Amb police station on November 14. A police team conducted a detailed examination of the surroundings where the skeleton was recovered.

During the inspection, the police noted that the skeleton was clothed. There was a white-and-blue striped shirt on the torso while the lower body had a black, heavily soiled and torn pants. The belt loops of the pants were tied together with a piece of cloth rope, indicating makeshift fastening. The deceased had noticeably long fingernails on both hands and a few strands of white-brown hair were found next to the skull.

The scene details suggested that the individual may have been suffering from unstable mental health before death. Despite extensive efforts, the police could not identify the deceased or find any missing person report that matches his description.

The recovered skeleton has been placed at Dr YS Parmar Government Medical College, Nahan, for preservation and possible identification by relatives or acquaintances. The Kala Amb police have appealed to the general public for assistance. Anyone who knows of a missing person, who has not been traced for a long time, is requested to contact the Kala Amb police in Sirmaur at 01702-254100.
