‘I am being forced to do this,’ says Bishop Cotton School students' kidnapper

“I am being forced to do it, these people are very dangerous” said Sumit Sood, the mastermind of the kidnapping of the three class VI students of Bishop Cotton School, as he tried to pose as a victim to avoid being suspected.

During a call with one of the parents of the student, that has now went viral on social media, the accused was heard saying that their kids have been kidnapped by a gang whose members were forcing him and had directed him to call the parents. He also kept urging the parent to not to inform anyone about the incident and told him to wait for his next call.

Police has revealed that Sood had also sought ransom in bitcoins from the parents of the kidnapped children. Bitcoin is the most popular and most expensive cryptocurreny. However, his plan failed after he was located by Shimla police within 24 hours and he was arrested from his residence in Kotkhai region, along with the kids.

Sharing their ordeal, one of the students, who was kidnapped by Sood, shared how the kidnapper lured them. They trusted him as he introduced himself an ex-Cottonian.

“As we went out of the school, we saw a car parked in Khalini. After crossing the car, the kidnapper told us, Hello Cottonians where are you going and we said hello sir we are going to The Mall. He then told us I can drop you there as I am going to Auckland, you can then reach The Mall from there. As we sat in the car, he told us that he will take us from a different route so that we do not get stuck in the traffic. However, when he drove in the opposite way we told him that sir this is the wrong way, he told us that they have been kidnapped. He also threatened us with a gun and asked us for our parents numbers,” said the student.
