Ibbetson House of Bishop Cotton School won the overall sports award at the 165th sports day of the school. The house also won the Proficiency Cup.

The Victor Ludorum Cup was awarded to Mukul, a student of Class VIII.

The events of the day included a gymnastics display, PT and house marching competitions, long jump, high jump, discus and javelin throwing and several track events, fiercely contested between the four different houses.

Gurprit Singh, director of sports at the school, said, “The highlights of this year were 6 new records being shattered. The oldest school sporting records date back to the year 2002.”

“Sports Day teaches discipline to students and includes track and field events, marchpast and gymnastics. The event promotes physical activity and encourages maximum participation by all students to get involved in sports” he added.
