IIAS reiterates commitment to promote Hindi at national forum

The Indian Institute of Advanced Study (IIAS), Shimla, participated in the Hindi Day 2025 and 5th All India Official Language Conference, which concluded in Gandhinagar on Sunday. Union Home and Cooperation Minister Amit Shah attended the conference as the chief guest.

From IIAS, Public Relations Officer Akhilesh Pathak and Official Language Secretary Rajesh Kumar participated in the sessions and reiterated the institute’s commitment to the promotion and progressive use of Hindi. Amid representatives and scholars from across the country, the IIAS representatives highlighted the institute’s role in advancing official language initiatives at the national level.

The Home Minister emphasised that Hindi and other Indian languages are not in competition but are complementary to each other. He stressed that Hindi should not remain confined to daily communication and administration alone but must also become a language of science, technology, justice and policing.
