IIIT-Una selected to host faculty programme on entrepreneurship
The Indian Institute of Information Technology (IIIT), Una, has been selected as one of 50 esteemed educational institutions in India to host the Faculty Development Programme (FDP) on Innovation and Entrepreneurship.
The programme, organised by the Innovation Cell of the Union Ministry of Education and the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), aims to foster entrepreneurship and innovation across academic institutions.
In a press release, IIIT- Una’s director, Prof. Manish Gaur, shared that the proposal for this initiative was submitted by associate faculty member Divyansh Thakur and assistant professor Dr Shivdutt Sharma. The proposal seeks to promote innovation and entrepreneurship within academia.
Prof. Gaur also announced that IIIT-Una has been granted funds by the Ministry of Education to equip faculty members with the essential skills necessary to mentor emerging innovators and entrepreneurs.
Prof. Gaur emphasised the importance of the FDP in empowering faculty to guide students in transforming their ideas into successful ventures, thus contributing to India’s entrepreneurial ecosystem.
