The Indian Institute of Information Technology (IIIT), Una, will award degrees to 42 students at its second convocation at the NIT auditorium here on November 30. LM Patnaik, Adjunct Professor and Senior Scientist from Indian Institute of Science (IISc), Bengaluru, will be the chief guest of the function.
S Selvakumar, Director, IIIT, said that besides awarding BTech degrees, six meritorious students would be awarded gold, silver and bronze medals. He added that 25 students would be conferred with degrees in Computer Science Engineering and 17 in Electronics and Communication Engineering.
The IIIT is operating from the NIT campus for the past five years and is expected to have its own campus at Una. It could not shift to its own building due to a delay in the construction work. The Director said that some blocks had been constructed at Una and the finishing work would be done soon. “We are expecting to move to our own campus at Una by the mid of next year with the start of the next session,” said Selvakumar.
