The Indian Institute of Management, Sirmaur (IIM-Sirmaur), organised the Industry Advisory Board 3.0 meeting, welcoming esteemed leaders from the travel and tourism industry. Representatives from globally recognised organisations such as American Express GBT, Alike.io, and FCM shared their expertise, offering students valuable insights into the evolving landscape of the tourism sector.

The event commenced with a plantation drive near the newly inaugurated academic block, underscoring IIM-Sirmaur’s commitment to sustainability. Faculty members, students and industry dignitaries planted saplings, reinforcing the institute’s dedication to a greener future.

Following this, a strategic conference took place between IIM-Sirmaur’s leadership and industry experts. Discussions focused on aligning the MBA (tourism management) and MBA (tourism, travel and hospitality management) curricula with emerging industry trends. As the only IIM offering an MBA programme exclusively dedicated to tourism, IIM-Sirmaur reaffirmed its commitment to providing industry-relevant education.

The highlight of the event was the roundtable mentorship workshop, where students engaged in one-on-one discussions with industry leaders. These mentorship sessions provided guidance on career opportunities, industry trends and skill development, equipping students with the knowledge needed to thrive in the dynamic tourism sector.
