The Indian Institute of Information Technology (IIIT) Una hosted an interactive session on “Cyber Security and its Future in India” on Thursday. The session aimed to provide insights into advanced cyber security paradigms, recent security breaches and emerging threats targeting critical infrastructures.

IIIT Una’s Director, Prof Manish Gaur, highlighted the significance of this event, stating that faculty members, researchers and students engaged in cutting-edge security research and implementation participated in the session. Prof Sandeep Shukla, the founder of the National Interdisciplinary Centre for Cyber Security and Cyber Defense at IIT Kanpur and Prof Ritu Batra, Chair Professor of Cyber Security at IIT Kanpur, interacted with the participants virtually, sharing their expertise.

Prof Gaur emphasised that cyber security plays a crucial role in safeguarding critical data within the cyber space, ensuring that hackers are kept at bay and preventing unauthorised access to sensitive information. A key feature of the session was a panel discussion on the evolving trajectory of India’s cyber security landscape, risk assessment tools and the need for robust industry-academia collaborations.
