Immoral trafficking racket busted
The Baijnath police raided a residential house near Baijnath, 20 km from here, after receiving a tip-off about alleged immoral trafficking. Acting on the information, the police deployed decoy customers to verify the claims before conducting the raid. Speaking to reporters, Baijnath DSP Anil Sharma said the police had received confidential information regarding illegal activities at the house.
A team, accompanied by local witnesses, raided the premises and arrested three individuals, including a mother and daughter, for their alleged involvement in immoral trafficking. An FIR has been registered under Sections 3, 4, and 5 of the Immoral Trafficking Prevention Act. The arrested individuals were presented before the court and have been remanded to 14 days of judicial custody.
Two girls were rescued from the premises, marking a significant step in dismantling the trafficking network. Preliminary investigations suggest that the accused had been operating the brothel under the guise of a residential setup. Further inquiries are underway to determine the full extent of the operation and identify any accomplices.
