Shimla: Traffic movement on the Dhalli-Tutikandi bypass road was disrupted for a few hours on Tuesday due to a landslide near the Vikasnagar locality of the state capital. Shimla (Urban) Subdivisional Magistrate Bhanu Gupta said the road was cleared for traffic after few hours by deploying JCB machines. This is second landslide in the town in as many days. On Monday, vehicular movement was disrupted on the Shimla-Boileauganj road due to a landslide.

One killed in Rohru accident

Shimla: One person was killed after a pickup truck in which he was travelling plunged down a 120-metre gorge in the Rohru subdivision of Shimla district on Tuesday, police said here. The deceased was identified as Nikam Singh Thakur (42), a resident of Kotsari village in Rohru. According to reports, the accident took place around 8:30 am near Kotsari village when the driver lost control over the vehicle and it skidded into the gorge. He died on the spot. Rohru Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Ravindra Negi said an investigation was under way.
