Three senior athletes from Himachal Pradesh won gold at the 40th National Senior Kyorugi and 13th National Senior Poomsae Taekwondo Championship, held from January 28-30, 2025, in Hyderabad. Kamal Kishore, a Himachal Police taekwondo coach, secured gold in the Senior under-50 category. Ghanshyam Bhardwaj, a data entry operator in the Himachal Pradesh Digital Technology and Governance Department, won in the Senior Poomsae Individual Special-Heart Category. The third gold was won by Kishore, Bhardwaj and Rajpal in the men's under-50 category. The competition featured national and international referees. The winners were warmly welcomed in Shimla at the historic Ridge. They credited their success to Vinod Kumar, the founder and coach of modern Taekwondo in Himachal Pradesh.
