Kasauli and Dagshai on Thursday received season’s first snowfall.

Snow brought cheer to residents of Kasauli and its vicinity as white cover enveloped the entire area. Tourists made a beeline to Kasauli even as vehicles skid on the road owing to the slippery surface.

Locals celebrated the snowfall and could be seen out playing amidst the chilling cold.

Children, too, came out of their houses to play as only light snowfall was witnessed in the area in several years.

Traders kept themselves warm by burning wood in the open and are expecting brisk sale of woollens and electrical gadgets.

Predicting snowfall in mid and high hills, the Meteorological Department had already issued yellow weather warning for thunderstorm in Himachal Pradesh for February 4.

It also snowed in Shimla, Kufri, Keylong, Kalpa and several other high reaches of the state.
