Inaugurated by CM Sukhu in May, portion of Theog bus stand sinking
MLA Kuldeep Rathore asks SDM to conduct an inquiry by engaging a technical agency
A portion of the newly constructed bus stand at Theog, 35 km from Shimla, has started sinking. Wide cracks on the floor and walls of the bus stand have appeared on the sinking portion. “I’ve asked the SDM, Theog, to conduct an inquiry into the case by engaging a technical agency to ascertain why the portion of the bus stand is sinking,” said Kuldeep Rathore, MLA, Theog.
The Chief Minister had inaugurated the bus stand in May this year but was yet to become fully operational. Rathore visited the spot and said that prime facie it appeared that the land beneath the portion where cracks had appeared was sinking. “Several trees below the stretch has tilted. It appears the land below is sinking, but we can’t say anything with certainty until some technical agency looks into it and submits a report,” said Rathore. “Once we get the report, we will take the remedial action at the earliest,” he added.
