India will hold peace talks on own terms: Jai Ram
Leader of the Opposition Jai Ram Thakur today said that terror and talks could not go hand in hand in the changed perspective and under no circumstances would India accept the hypocrisy of terror and trade.
Thakur, while talking to mediapersons here, said, “India has changed and we will hold peace talks on our own terms. The new India wants peace, but is also ready to go to any extent in its fight against terrorism”.
The former Chief Minister along with state BJP president Rajeev Bindal took part in the Tiranga Yatra organised by the Citizens for National Security from the Telegraph Office to The Ridge. Bindal, Shimla Lok Sabha MP Suresh Kashyap, Chopal MLA Balbir Verma, former minister Suresh Bhardwaj and other leaders took part in the Tiranga Yatra.
Thakur said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi had made it clear that now India would not tolerate any kind of nuclear blackmailing. “Whenever there is bloodshed, the water route will be blocked. The ‘Operation Sindoor’ has been postponed but it is not over,” he added.
Bindal said that the world had seen how top officials of the Pakistani army attended the burial of the slain terrorists, which was a proof enough that Pakistan was sponsoring terrorism. The Central Government would continue to take decisive steps to protect India and its citizens from any terror attacks, he added.
Members of the Vyapar Mandal, Rotary Club, Singh Sabha and a large number of social organisations participated in the Tiranga Yatra. Programme coordinator Bihari Lal Sharma was also present.
