Indora man gets 204th rank in UPSC CDS exam

Luvdeep Singh of Makdoli village (Indora subdivision) in Kangra district has brought laurels to the district by cracking the UPSC’s Combined Defence Service (CDS) examinations, securing the 204th rank in his second attempt at the exam.
A medical practitioner by profession, Singh holds a Bachelor’s degree in Homeopathy, Medicine and Surgery (BHMS) from a Solan-based private university. He wished to serve the country by joining the Indian Army as a Commissioned Officer.
After clearing the Central Defence Services examination, Singh will undergo training at the Indian Defence Services Officer Academy in Chennai. His father Darshan Singh had served in the Indian Army, retiring as a Subedar Major.
According to Singh, his fascination with his father’s Army uniform inspired him to join the Indian Army.
