Indu Goswami hands over food kits to SDM

Palampur, March 30

Senior BJP leader and Rajya Sabha MP Indu Goswami today handed over 180 kits of foodgrain comprising all essential commodities such as rice, wheat flour, mustard oil, pulses and salt to SDM, Palampur, Dharmesh Ramotra. These will be further distributed to the poor and migrant labourers who have been rendered jobless following the lockdown.

The SDM has been maintaining buffer stock of foodgrain being received from different NGOs, social organisations and political parties in his office and supplying the same to the poor after proper identification. NGOs and social bodies have been visiting the SDM office daily to hand over the food items.

The SDM, while talking to mediapersons, said in the past two days, he had distributed foodgrain to every needed person.

The SDM said he was personally monitoring the situation and anyone could contact him on his cellphone.

He said the government had also released funds for the purchase of foodgrain in case of emergency. He said the local sabzi mandi had sufficient stocks of vegetable and fruits and the same was being sold at reasonable rates.
