Industries Minister Harshwardhan Chauhan participated in an interactive session with a leading Japanese industry representatives and investors at the Embassy of India, Tokyo, and invited them to visit and explore first-hand opportunities in Himachal Pradesh.
During the session, the minister said the state government was implementing central government’s Raising and Accelerating MSME Performance (RAMP) scheme through initiatives like green financing, smart MSMEs, and green technologies.
“Himachal Pradesh offers stability, skilled manpower, and sector-specific incentives,” he said.
Dr Yunus, Director of Industries, who was also present in the session, presented a detailed presentation showcasing opportunities in adventure and spiritual tourism (including the Buddhist Circuit), alongside strategic interventions to strengthen MSMEs under the World Bank-supported RAMP Programme of the Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MoMSME).
The presentation also introduced the upcoming Reverse Buyer–Seller Meet (RBSM), inviting participation from Japan External Trade Organization (JETRO), MEJ, and other Japanese associations.
Additional Chief Secretary (Industries) highlighted opportunities in tourism, ropeway projects, the upcoming Bulk Drug Park, and the electric vehicles industry. He lauded JETRO’s work in empowering SMEs and start-ups, and formally invited Japanese representatives to partner with Himachal Pradesh in these sectors.
The session witnessed participation from prominent Japanese leaders, including Kayoko Beppu and Anzu Yakushiji (Medical Excellence Japan), Harunobu Hara (JETRO), Hajime Suzuki (RX Japan), and Kailashdeep Sharma (ICEPHARMA Japan). Discussions centered on collaboration in healthcare, pharmaceuticals, advanced medical technologies, industrial partnerships, and trade linkages.
