The Himalayan Business Summit (HiBS) 2025, organised by IIT-Mandi’s School of Management, concluded successfully recently, showcasing the transformative potential of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in global business. The summit united industry leaders, professionals, and academicians to discuss AI-driven business innovation and trends.

The event began with a welcome address by Prof Anjan K Swain, chairperson of the school of management, emphasising the summit’s vision to foster AI leadership. Prof Manoj Thakur highlighted IIT-Mandi’s efforts to strengthen academia-industry collaboration.

Anup Purohit, Global CIO of Wipro Limited, delivered the keynote address, focusing on aligning AI with business strategies to drive innovation. The first panel, moderated by Karun Jalali of Deloitte, explored “AI-Powered Personalisation,” where experts discussed AI’s role in tailoring products and services to meet market demands.

Day two featured a keynote by Dr Umesh Udaya Prakash, CEO of Innova Solutions, who highlighted AI’s contribution to industry-wide innovation. Panel discussions included “AI-Driven Business Intelligence,” led by Dr Vinay Kumar, which examined how businesses leverage data for competitive advantage, and “AI & Cybersecurity,” moderated by Samir Datt, focusing on protecting digital assets in the AI era.

The summit also featured mentorship sessions where students engaged with industry leaders to explore career opportunities and emerging technologies. A cultural night showcased the talents of IIT Mandi’s students, adding vibrancy to the event.

The summit concluded with a valedictory address by Dr Ashish Bollimbala, who applauded the collaboration among participants and organisers. HiBS 2025 provided students and professionals with insights into the evolving AI landscape, fostering meaningful connections and a deeper understanding of AI’s role in transforming businesses worldwide.
