In a significant step towards enhancing youth employability and industry engagement, a grand Prime Minister’s National Apprenticeship fair was organised at the Government Industrial Training Institute (ITI), Sundernagar in Mandi.
Er Ravinder Banyal, Senior Scale Principal of Government ITI Grade-A, Mandi, and Apprenticeship Advisor for Mandi district, was the chief guest.
In his address, Banyal emphasised the core objective of the fair — to motivate ITI trainees towards apprenticeship training and to educate them about its procedures and long-term benefits. He underlined that apprenticeship serves as a vital bridge between vocational education and real-world industry experience, enabling young individuals to become self-reliant and industry-ready.
Various industrial units and government departments set up informative stalls to guide the participants. Special arrangements were made to register unregistered candidates and industries on the Apprenticeship Portal on the spot. Participants were also given detailed demonstrations on portal operations.
The event saw active participation from representatives of public and private sector organisations, government officials and students. Attendees had the opportunity to resolve queries related to apprenticeship schemes, eligibility and guidelines through expert interaction.
Assistant Apprenticeship Advisors from all blocks of Mandi district, officials from multiple industrial units and trainees from the institute participated enthusiastically, making the event a resounding success.
The Apprenticeship fair at ITI-Sundernagar not only provided a platform for skill development but also strengthened the collaboration between industry and vocational training institutes, in line with the Skill India Mission.
