Intellectual services rendered by Vivekananda highlighted

Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur said here today Swami Vivekananda had dedicated his entire life to fostering national values and morality in society. He was speaking here on the occasion of Vivekananda birth anniversary celebrations organized by Vivekananda Medical Research Trust (VMRT) headed by former Chief Minister and senior BJP leader Shanta Kumar.

Thakur said inspired by his credo, a trust headed by Shanta Kumar continued to spread the message of compassionate service based upon humanitarian values. While appreciating the services rendered by VMRT the Chief Minister said “Vivekananda Medical Research Trust (VMRT) is envisaged to strengthen the public health system by providing affordable and reliable medical services at the doorstep”.

Thakur told the students that positive youth engagement was necessary and attractive prize money should motivate the younger generation to prepare and compete well. He highlighted the intellectual services rendered by Swami Vivekananda not only in India but all over world. He asked the youths to go through the books authored by Swami Vivekananda which carried high moral values.

“Vivekananda is a youth icon. Socio-moral values are essential to facilitate the growth of a nation. Values of Vivekananda can guide the youth and can inculcate much-needed national character”, Shanta Kumar, chairman, VMRT, said.

Shanta Kumar said the trust had been striving hard to bring forth and spread the values of Swami Vivekananda. He said to celebrate the birth anniversary of Swami Vivekananda trust had also organized a state level declamation contest encompassing the life of Vivekananda to motivate the youth for humanitarian national service.

Suresh Bhardwaj Education Minister and Vipan Singh Parmar Health Minister also addressed the audience. BJP MLAs from Kangra and senior state officers were also present.
