Interview for coach, assistant professor at HP varsity on April 1
Himachal Pradesh University has announced a walk-in interview for the post of coach/assistant professor (guest faculty) in athletics under the Department of Physical Education and Youth Programme. The interview is scheduled to take place on April 1 for a temporary appointment for the academic session 2024-25.
According to the university’s notification, the appointment will remain valid either until the end of the academic session or until a regular incumbent joins, whichever comes earlier. The university has also extended the opportunity to superannuated teachers, provided they are below 70 years of age.
To be eligible for the position, candidates must possess a one-year diploma in sports coaching or a postgraduate diploma in coaching in athletics as per the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE) guidelines. Additionally, they must fulfil the qualifications prescribed by the University Grants Commission (UGC), as adopted by the university.
Candidates appearing for the interview must bring an updated curriculum vitae (CV), original certificates, and self-attested copies. The document verification process will take place from 11.30 am to 12.15 pm on the interview date. The university has clarified that no travel or dearness allowance will be provided and no separate call letters will be issued for the interview.
