Shimla, February 23

Vidhan Sabha Speaker Kuldeep Pathania today said the introduction of zero hour in the Assembly was under consideration. Pathania made these remarks as Revenue Minister Jagat Singh Negi, in reply to a Point of Order by Vinod Sultanpuri, said precious time of the house was being wasted in raising various issues.

“I personally feel that all these issues must be raised during the zero hour,” said Negi. There is presently no provision for zero hour in the Vidhan Sabha, in which members can raise any issue.

Kasauli MLA Vinod Sultanpuri raised the issue of muck from the national highway damaging the Kaushalya dam in Solan district. “A huge population of the Parwanoo area is dependent on the dam for irrigation and water supply,” said Sultanpuri.

He added that Taksla village and surrounding areas had not been getting water for 15 days and the water body must be repaired by the Himachal Pradesh Urban Development Authority (HIMUDA) at the earliest.
