ICSI announces 50% fee waiver scheme for HP students

The Institute of Company Secretaries of India (ICSI) is organising an investor awareness programme in association with the Investor Education and Protection Fund Authority and the Central Government tomorrow at the Sports Authority of India (SAI) Auditorium in Dharamsala.

Union Minister of State for Finance and Corporate Affairs Anurag Thakur will be the chief guest and Injeti Srinivas, Secretary, Ministry for Corporate Affairs, and CS Ranjeet Pandey, president, ICSI, will attend the event.

Investor Education and Protection Fund Authority has been conducting investor awareness programmes in rural areas through CSC e-Governance (Common Service Centres Scheme).

The main objective of conducting these programmes is to reach out to people and spread awareness about savings and investments through the channels of CSCs. The project intends to share with the rural citizens various concepts of savings and investments with special focus on women, farmers and marginalised sections.

Pandey said: “Investments play an important role in economic growth of a nation. I congratulate the Ministry of Corporate Affairs for organising this state-level conference and I hope that not only the existing but potential investors too shall understand their responsibilities in educating themselves and making themselves aware of their rights as investors.”

The ICSI is also organising a mega career awareness programme for students of Himachal Pradesh. The programme shall focus on various investment and career opportunities for the youth.

The ICSI has launched a special fee waiver scheme for HP students. Under the scheme, 50 per cent fee waiver will be provided to students belonging to HP for registration to CS Foundation and CS Executive Programme.
