Intellectual property laws ensure 'dissemination of knowledge': Shoolini University Chancellor

Dr PK Khosla, Chancellor, Shoolini University, Solan, today said intellectual property (IP) laws ensured the dissemination of knowledge. He was addressing delegates at an awareness programme on Intellectual Property Rights (IPRs) organised on the campus.

Himachal Pradesh University and Shoolini University jointly organised the programme in collaboration with the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI).

Sessions on IP commercialisation, IP career, startups and the role of IP in new technologies were held.

Dr Nandan Sharma, Associate Dean, School of Law, highlighted the importance of intellectual property and how the university rose to the top three patent filing universities in India.

Dr Sanjay Sidhu, Dean and Chairman, Faculty of Law, Himachal Pradesh University, explained the importance of interpreting the term “property” under law.

Divyaish Srivastava, Assistant Director, FICCI, introduced the role of FICCI as a bridge between the government and the industry.
