ShimlaThe Joint Action Committee (JAC) of HPSEBL employees, engineers and pensioners condemned the decision to suspend one office-bearer of the union for raising his voice against “abolition of posts” and in favour of the restoration of OPS in HPSEBL.

The JAC leaders said the suspension of an employee by the HPSEBL management was against the fundamental rights of citizen as envisaged in our Constitution as well as trade union rights given in Trade Union Act to working class. The employee has been reportedly suspended for delivering a speech in the protest at Hamirpur on February 11.

Opposing the decision, the JAC leaders said there was nothing derogatory in his speech and he just raised demands pertaining to HPSEBL and its employees. “This is a gross violation of natural justice and procedure of CCS Conduct Rules as he has been directly suspended without giving any opportunity to be heard.

The JAC term it as assault on trade union rights which is not tolerable,” said the JAC leaders. Lokesh Thakur, convener of the JAC, said such decisions could not suppress their voice and demanded an immediate withdrawal of the suspension orders.
