A house collapsed in Ward No. 8 of Jaisinghpur town last night after heavy rains lashed the area. The structure, perched on a congested slope, had been under threat for the past few days. Fortunately, disaster was averted as the occupants had already vacated the building after noticing cracks in its walls.
Jaisinghpur Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM) Sanjiv Thakur said immediate assistance was provided to the affected family. The occupants have been shifted to safer locations, including government buildings.
This marks the third house collapse in Jaisinghpur within a week. Local residents reported that more than 50 other houses are at risk, with rainwater severely damaging their walls and roofs. The SDM urged residents not to stay in unsafe structures and assured that the administration would extend all possible support to vulnerable families.
