Forest Minister Govind Thakur today said the BJP regime remains committed to the welfare of the people and all out efforts are being made to provide quality health and education services at their door step.

Thakur was speaking at the 20th Jan Manch held at Jhakri in Rampur sub division of Shimla district today. A total of 58 complaints were received from people belonging to 10 panchayats, namely Jhakri, Jeori, Bhadal, Dhar gaura, Dofda, Gopalpur, Racholi, Shahdhar, Kinoo and Sarahan. Grievances of 42 persons were resolved on the spot while 16 have been referred to the concerned departments. Local MLA Nand Lal was also present on the occasion.

Thakur said drug menace had emerged a major challenge and it was the responsibility of every citizen to protect youth from the clutches of the vice. He added that all possible efforts were being made at the government level in this regard by involving youth in sports and environment protection.

The minister also urged people to follow rules to ensure road safety. He also handed over fixed despot cheques to 10 girl children under Beti Hai Anmol scheme of the government.

He urged the officials to grant handicapped certificates, revenue related information and free health to the people at their homes so that they do not have to frequent government offices every now and then. — TNS
