Jawali witnessing rapid progress under Congress government: Himachal minister
Says the work on the Rs 5.36-crore Nagrota Surian Hospital and a new 50-bed block at the Jawali Civil Hospital at a cost of Rs 6.42 crore is underway
The Jawali Assembly constituency in Kangra district is undergoing rapid transformation as the Congress government is carrying out a series of development projects there, said Agriculture Minister Chander Kumar while interacting with local people today.
He said that the state government had instructed officials to visit villages, listen to the complaints of people and resolve them promptly, he added.
He said that a majority of public grievances were related to the Revenue Department while the government had initiated major reforms to make revenue services more transparent and efficient. He added that essential infrastructure in Jawali was being upgraded. A Rs 87-crore bridge over the Gaj Khad was under construction and when completed, it would significantly boost connectivity and economic opportunities.
He said that in the health sector, the work on the Rs 5.36-crore Nagrota Surian Hospital and a new 50-bed block at the Jawali Civil Hospital at a cost of Rs 6.42 crore was underway. The projects to widen and improve roads were also being implemented in the constituency, he added.
To ensure uninterrupted drinking water supply, the Amrit-2 scheme was being implemented at a cost of Rs 15.50 crore, involving the installation of new tube wells, storage tanks and pipelines in Jawali town. The work on a Rs 34-crore sewerage project in Nagrota Surian was also underway. The government was preparing a Rs 29.65-crore lift-irrigation scheme to supply drinking water to 45 villages in 16 panchayats of the Ghad-Jarot area, he added.
Chander Kumar said that the Rs 213.40-crore Sukkhahar Medium Irrigation Project would irrigate 2,186 hectares, providing a major boost to agriculture.
