Jewellery shop burgled in Kangra

Kangra, March 11

A jewellery shop at the Donga Bazar locality was burgled last night, the police said here today.

Maher Singh, SHO, Kangra, said burglars broke open locks of Sehgal Jewellers during the intervening night of Tuesday and Wednesday and decamped with gold worth lakhs of rupees.

He said they cut open the iron safe with the gas welding technique and took out the gold.

He said they also stole the hard disc of CCTV cameras installed in the shop. The police suspect that the burglars must have visited the shop earlier also. — OC
