Jobless youth, staffers taking to streets in Congress rule: Himachal ex-Speaker Vipin Singh Parmar
Dharamsala, August 25
Former Vidhan Sabha Speaker and Sulah MLA Vipin Singh Parmar today alleged that the Congress government in the state was exploiting employees and cheating unemployed youth.
The BJP Kangra-Chamba in-charge said the employees and pensioners were taking to the streets after the Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu-led government forced youths to hold protests.
There was a complete ban on new recruitments, besides routine competitive examinations, he said, adding that it never happened during the BJP rule that employee organisations had to sit on a dharna and protest in support of their demands. During the one-and-a-half year tenure of the Congress government, the employees had been forced to take to the streets, he said.
Parmar said before the elections, Congress leaders had publicly said they will stop outsourcing and provide one lakh permanent jobs every year on coming to power, but now the Chief Minister was saying from public platforms that he was going to fill posts through outsourcing.
He said the Congress leaders boasted of being employee friendly, but when decisions were being taken against employees in the Cabinet meetings they maintained silence. Parmar said the BJP ran the government for five years despite adverse circumstances arising out of economic crisis and Covid, but it never happened that salaries of the employees were stopped or there was a delay in giving DA. “This is the first government that is recklessly taking loans, but is not able to give salary, DA and arrears to the employees in time. Not only this, medical reimbursement has not been paid to the employees for the past two years and the liability stands at crores,” the BJP leader said, adding that the facilities that the BJP government had given to the public in the previous tenure, are being stopped and people are being burdened by increasing tax.
Parmar said in the interest of the state and for the rights of employees, pensioners and youth, the BJP will come out on the streets and put the Congress government in the dock before the people.
