Jr Draftsman held for taking bribe

Dharamsala, January 24

The Vigilance and Anti-Corruption Bureau of Kangra has arrested Vivek Kumar, junior draftsman, posted in the sub-divisional office of the Soil Conservation Department in Fatehpur on graft charge.

Balbir Singh, SP, Vigilance and Anti-Corruption Bureau, in a press statement issued here today, said that Vivek was arrested while accepting a bribe of Rs 12,000 from complainant Anil Kumar, a resident of Kangra. The accused had demanded the bribe to release a subsidy of Rs 1.1 lakh from the Soil Conservation Department to Raghubir Singh. The complainant works in a borewell firm that had drilled a borewell for Raghivir Singh.

A cases under Section 7 of the Prevention of Corruption Act has been registered against the accused.
