This remarkable achievement marks a first for India, as Dr Kuldip Singh becomes the country’s first-ever appointee to this prestigious technical role within world athletics. The Jury of Appeal plays a crucial role in world athletics events, ensuring that all competitions maintain the highest standards of fairness and integrity. As outlined in World Athletics Technical Rule 8, the jury adjudicates protests and appeals referred by referees or filed by athletes and their representatives. Members of this esteemed panel are carefully selected by the World Athletics Technical Committee or Council, based on their technical acumen, impartiality and unwavering commitment to upholding the principles of the sport.
