Solan, December 23
A two-day-long Kala Utsav began at the District Institute of Education and Training (DIET) here. In all, 80 students from 10 districts are participating in various cultural events.
The event was organised as part of the Samagra Shiksha under the Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan. Additional District Magistrate (ADM) Vivek Chandel inaugurated the event. Various competitions such as solo singing, solo dance, painting and music etc were held. Winners of the various competitions will get an opportunity to participate at the national level.
ADM Vivek Chandel said students should participate in such events, along with studies, as it would help in the overall development of their personality.
He said besides ensuring quality education, the Samagra Shiskha campaign also aimed at enhancing learning capabilities of the students.
