Kangana welcomes passage of Waqf Bill
Local MP Kangana Ranaut today welcomed the passing of the Waqf Bill in Parliament, calling it a ‘great day for the country’.
Kangana, during a visit to Mandi, praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership and his ongoing efforts to tackle corruption in the country. She said that the creation of the Waqf Board by the Congress had led to a large number of land encroachments and the matter needed to be addressed. “The Congress had constituted the Waqf Board and it led to massive land encroachments. Today, we are fortunate to have a leader like Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who is working tirelessly to eradicate corruption everywhere,” Kangana added.
She said, “No one is above law. If any land was encroached upon, the affected people could not seek legal remedy to reclaim it. This is why I fully support the Waqf Board Bill that was passed in Parliament. It is a step towards addressing these issues.”
Kangana paid obeisance at the Bhootnath temple and also performed puja. She offered best wishes to the people of Mandi and the state for the Navratri festival and prayed for peace and prosperity in the region.
Later, Kangana attended a public meeting at Manjhvar in the Mandi Sadar Assembly segment and announced Rs 5 lakh for the construction of a community centre building there. She also held a meeting at Kotli and announced Rs 25 lakh for the construction of a playground at Chaloh and Rs 15 lakh for the construction of toilets near the Zonal Hospital Mandi.
