The issue of the safety and security of actress Kangana Ranaut echoed in the Vidhan Sabha today with Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur saying the actress was being targeted only because she chose to speak in a dissenting tone.

Reacting to action against Kangana in Mumbai, the Chief Minister said it was highly condemnable and unfortunate. “Himachal and its people are very concerned about her security and Shiv Sena’s irresponsible behaviour is unfortunate,” he renmarked.

Independent MLA from Dehra, Hoshiyar Singh raised the issue through a call attention motion in the Vidhan Sabha today. “It is so unfortunate that the office of the actress in Mumbai has been demolished,” he remarked. He urged the Congress legislators to take up the issue of Kangana’s safety with the Maharashtra Government in which the Congress is an alliance partner.

Col Inder Singh, legislator from the Sarkaghat constituency which covers Kangana’s native place Bhambla, said he was concerned about her safety.

Remarks by Congress MLA Ram Lal Thakur that the matter should not be discussed as it is sub judice provoked the treasury benches and there were heated exchanges between the BJP and the Congress legislators. Speaker Vipin Parmar pacified both sides as Congress Legislature Party (CLP) leader Mukesh Agnihotri said that he too was concerned about Kangana’s safety.
