Kardar Sangh seeks relaxation in SOPs
Mandi, September 10
The Kardar Sangh is demanding some relaxations in SOPs for devotees in Mandi district.
Shivpal Sharma, president of the Kardar Sangh, Mandi, said, “In villages, some devotees invite deities to their houses. Besides, deities visit villages once or twice a year. During their visit, deities are attended by kardars and bajantris.”
“In the SOPs, there is no mention of performance of rituals by the kardars of deities. There is no mention of Bajantris in the SOPs, too,” he said.
“We urge the government to allow at least 50 persons related to the Kardar Sangh and bajantris during the visit of deity to a village or a person’s house. The government should give a few relaxations in the SOPs to ensure the movement of deities out of their temples,” he added. — TNS
