Alleging connivance of the revenue staff, the Kasauli police have registered a case under Section 420, 467 and 468 of the IPC for cheating and fraud. SP, Solan, Gaurav Singh said that they were in the process of securing the requisite record from the authorities to probe the complaint.

Kuldeep Kanwar, a resident of Chabal village near Kasauli, in his complaint to the police, stated that realtor Ajay Singhal approached him for selling his 36 biswas at Chamiya village in Kasauli tehsil in 2010. Though he was not keen to sell his land, he agreed to the deal after Singhal persistently pursued him. He, however, told Singhal to give him another piece of land in lieu following which 30 bighas at Kot village near Kasauli was sold to him though its value was much less owing to its location.
