Kaul asks Himachal CM to quit over health scam

Former Health Minister and senior Congress leader Kaul Singh Thakur asked Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur to step down from his post on moral grounds over the health scam.

Addressing mediapersons, Kaul Singh said “The CM is responsible for the scam because the Health and Family Welfare Department is under his control.”

“The state government had purchased masks and sanitisers at higher prices. The Centre had fixed the price of a three-layer mask at Rs 10 and two-layer mask at Rs 8, while the department had purchased these from Rs 14 to Rs 16. Similarly, the price of a sanitiser bottle was Rs 50, which was purchased by the government at Rs 150,” he said. — TNS
