Kaul: Govt has failed to check price rise
Palampur, February 24
The Congress today accused the BJP government of pursuinganti-people policy andcharged it with no taking measures to check price rise.
Addressing a rally here today, former minister Kaul Singh criticised he government for increasing bus fare, power tariff, taxes on motorvehicles, registration of sale deeds, etc, making the lives of the common man worse.
He said the price of petrol had crossed Rs 100 but the Union Government was busy in dislodging the elected Congress governments in MP, Karnataka and Puducherry. However, its efforts had failed in Rajasthan.
Thakur also flayed the BJP government for the “misuse” of power in the rural elections.
“It seems there are two sets of laws in the state: a liberal one for BJP workers and tough for Congressmen,”
Thakur said mining and land mafias were active. Hundreds of acres in Una, Kangra, Solan and Sirmaur had gone barren because of reckless illegal mining.
“Jai Ram Thakur seems more interested in cursing Congress leaders but has not taken any step to bring relief to the people against the price rise,” he said. Kaul Singh added that the Congress would be voted to power in the state in the 2022 elections.
Ashish Butail, local MLA, said development activities had come to a standstill in the past three years. The government had failed to get project reports prepared, affecting the development works. — OC
