A one-day career counselling and guidance workshop for students was organised by the District Programme Officer (Lahaul and Spiti) at the Deputy Commissioner’s office in Keylong. The workshop was presided over by Deputy Commissioner Rahul Kumar. Heads of various departments were also present on the occasion.
The students of Government Senior Secondary School, Keylong and Kendriya Vidyalaya attended the workshop to get guidance and counselling for their future.
The DC apprised the students of the civil service examination and its preparation. He advised the students to become better citizens and prepare for the examinations with hard work and dedication.
With hard work and sacrifices made during the student life, one can achieve good things in the future, he added. The DC also called upon the students to use newspapers and internet in the right manner so that they can play an important role in building the society.
Superintendent of Police Mayank Chaudhary informed the students about the police service, its dimensions and the preparations related to it. He urged the children to stay away from drugs and follow the law.
Divisional Forest Officer Aniket Vanve informed the students about the Indian Forest Service examination and called upon them to take appropriate steps for environment protection.
On this occasion, Assistant Commissioner Sankalp Gautam and Sub-Divisional Officer Rajneesh Sharma informed the students about the Himachal Administrative Services examination and called upon them to work hard and choose their careers as per their interest.
Project Officer Sonu Goyal advised the students to learn 10 questions of all subjects daily and Dr Akshita detailed about various medical examinations.
Major Ravi Shankar from the Border Roads Organisation gave detailed information about the preparations for the NDA and CDS examination. The DC said such workshops would be organised regularly. On behalf of the District Programme Officer, Women and Child Development Department and under the ‘Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao’ campaign, laptops would be distributed to the students securing top five positions in classes X and XII, he added.
