Kinner Kailash yatra resumes after two days

The Kinner Kailash yatra in Kinnaur district has resumed after a two-day disruption caused by heavy rain. “We resumed the yatra Wednesday morning after the weather cleared up. The yatra was closed on July 21 and 22,” said Amit Kalthaik, SDM, Kalpa. The yatra is being held from July 15 to August 30.

The yatra starts from Tangling village in Kalpa tehsil, which serves as the base camp. The first camp after the base camp is at Mling Khata. “It takes people around 12-15 hours to reach Kinner Kailash and return to the first camp at Mling Khata,” said the SDM.
