Advocate Ajay Kochhar was unanimously elected as the chairman of the Bar Council of Himachal Pradesh during a General House meeting of the council held yesterday.
The election was held in the wake of the vacancy created due to the death of Ramakant Sharma, the sitting chairman of the Bar Council.
Earlier, the General House paid tribute to Ramakant Sharma and observed a two-minute silence in his memory. The meeting was presided over by the vice-chairman of the council, Narender Singh.
