Kullu, February 7

A watercolour painting of Madega Gur of deity Juani Mahadev, made by artist Deep Dhananjai of Kullu, has been selected by the International Watercolor Platform for the ‘Fabriano in Acquarello’ convention to be held in Italy and US. The showcase in Fabriano, Italy, is scheduled to be held from April 26 to June 15 and the exhibition in Texas, USA, will be held from October 14 to 16. Artworks of 10 Indian artists have been selected to be showcased at the exhibitions.

International Watercolor Platform is a worldwide watercolour directory. Every year, artworks of artists from various countries are selected by the platform to be displayed at the international exhibition.

According to Dhananjai, his artwork was selected after he uploaded some of his pieces related to the culture and history of Himachal Pradesh online. His painting of Madega Gur (Oracle) of deity Juani Mahadev has been selected for the prestigious international ‘Fabriano in Acquarello’ convention in the ‘Watercolor-2024’ exhibitions, he added. In his painting, the Gur is wearing a white turban, a head dress only worn by Madega Gur of the deity.

Artists from 95 countries have participated in this watercolour platform, according to Dhananjai.
