Thakur urged citizens, artistes and stakeholders to contribute creative suggestions that would enhance the festivities and deepen its communal connect. He credited Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu for reimagining the festival and bringing it to global prominence. Notably, the Indian Council for Cultural Relations has now included the International Kullu Dasehra in its official cultural calendar, ensuring regular participation of international cultural troupes.

The 2024 edition emerged as a financial success, earning Rs 10.34 crore in revenue against an expenditure of Rs 9.44 crore. The committee also decided to allow temporary shops and stalls on the festival grounds from October 2 to November 2, with no hike in stall charges. Thakur directed that the tendering process be completed on time and with full transparency.

Upgrades to the Kala Kendra, including repairs and aesthetic improvements, were greenlit. Accommodation and security arrangements for visiting cultural troupes have been finalised, with police managing traffic, safety and emergency protocols.

This year’s cultural programme will feature a fusion of traditional deity processions with performances from the North-East and abroad. Thakur stressed the sanctity of the deities’ presence, urging dignified hospitality during their stay.
