Secretary of Ispur agriculture society arrested for fraud

The State Vigilance and Anti-Corruption Bureau (SVACB) has arrested the secretary of Ispur Agriculture Cooperative Society, Shyam Lal, for the alleged embezzlement of Rs 1.63 crore by forgery and preparing false loan documents during 2015 and 2019.
He was produced in a court on Friday, which remanded him in seven-day police custody. Searches were conducted at various places at Haroli tehsil in Una district and incriminating documents were seized, said Additional Director General of Police (ADGP), State Vigilance and Anti-Corruption Bureau, Anurag Garg.
A case in the regard was registered in Una on October 7 on the complaint of the assistant registrar, Cooperative Society, Una.
The case is being investigated by a Special Investigating Unit, Shimla, headed by Varun Patial.
